Year 2007 & Year 2008
- On 15th & 23rd of May 2008, HHP Attorneys-At-Law, together with the Youth Jurisprudence Association of Fudan University, held the 8th WORKSHOP FOR LAW SCHOOL STUDENT with the topic of Mergers & Acquisitions of Service-Providing Enterprises. The graduates and undergraduates of Law School of Fudan University joined in the workshop. Mr. Rao Yao conducted the workshop.
- The earthquake in Wenchuan of Sichuan Province on 12th May 2008 touched people all over the world. Tens of Thousands of people died and their home disappeared in a moment. HHP Attorneys-At-Law proposed voluntary donation as soon as we heard the sad news. In two days, in total RMB 70800 was collected and then delivered to Shanghai Red Cross immediately, including RMB 20800 from individual donation and RMB 50000 from the firm. We all hope what we did can of help to the reconstruction of the disaster area.
- From 9th May to 12th May 2008, all members of HHP Attorneys-At-Law flied to Phuket for an outing. Phuket is a fantastic island located in south Thailand full of tropical atmosphere. It gave us a deep impression with its fair beach, coconut grove, clear seawater and unique culture. We also tasted various food of Thailand flavor, especially the seafood meal. The journey relaxed us after long time of work.
- In May 2008, entrusted by Shanghai Zendai Property Limited, a company on the Hong Kong main board (0755.HK), HHP-Attorneys-At-Law began to provide legal service regarding the assets in mainland China involved in the transaction in which Jointex Investment Holdings Limited transfers all the shares of Giant Hope Investments Limited that it holds to Shanghai Zendai Property Limited.
- In February 2008, HHP-Attorneys-At-Law began to provide legal advice for Hynix-ST for its restructuring into Hynix-Numonyx. Numonyx is an enterprise manufacturing memory jointly invested by Intel and ST Microelectronics abroad of China.
- In February 2008, Mr. Rao Yao, the senior associate of Salans Shanghai, has formally become the Partner of HHP-Attorneys-at-Law. Mr. Rao Yao’s professional emphasis is on the areas of company law, labor law, foreign direct investment, financing, foreign exchange, mergers and acquisitions, etc. Mr. Rao Yao has accumulated abundant practical experience in the field of complicated transnational mergers and acquisitions. He provides long-term professional legal service and legal consultation on daily working for a large number of worldwide renowned companies. His clients are in a wide range of financing, medicine, exhibition, communications, manufacturing, etc.

On 18th
& 19th of December 2007, HHP Attorneys-At-Law, together
with the Youth Jurisprudence Association of Fudan University, held the
7th WORKSHOP FOR LAW SCHOOL STUDENT on the topic of the
Basic Transaction Mode of PE Investment. The graduates and
undergraduates of Law School of Fudan University joined in the
workshop. The lecturer of workshop was Mr. Cheng Jiamao.
- In November 2007, HHP-Attorneys-At-Law began to provide legal service for Universal Silencer, a famous American company, regarding its setting up of WFOE (wholly foreign owned enterprise) in Shanghai. USI is a premiere global engineer and manufacturer of industrial noise control and air filtration solutions. Since 1959, OEMs, packagers and end-users have relied on USI's standard and custom-engineered products for effective results in the industrial process, power generation, marine, oil & gas and emission control markets.
- In November 2007, Mr. Dai Jun gave training for FASCO Shanghai regarding the "Labor Contract Law" recently issued. In December 2007, Mr. Dai Jun and Mr. Zhao Cheng provided training related to Labor Contract Law for the middle and top level management of Chery Automobile Co., Ltd.
- In November
2007, HHP-Attorneys-At-Law began to provide legal service for Celanese
(China) Holding Co., Ltd. Celanese (China) was solely invested by
Celanese in 2004, one of the world's largest manufacturers of chemical
products. Celanese (China) manages the investments of Celanese in
China and the distribution of its products.
- In September
2007, the second instance trial of HuangShi Haiguanshan Hotel Co., Ltd
v.s. Capital-Bridge Securities has been concluded. The High
People’s Court of Shanghai Municipality finally supports our
lawyers’ opinion and holds that Capital-Bridge Securities shall
pay back all the clearing funds and relevant legal fruits to HuangShi
Haiguanshan Hotel Co., Ltd. In this complex and time consuming
litigation, we have saved our client from an economic loss amounting
more than RMB 33 million.
- In 2007, HHP
Attorneys-At-Law was once again listed in the recommendatory law firms
by the “Asia Pacific Legal 500” with an introduction on
Mr. Jun DAI and founding partner Mr. Benjamin Bin ZHAO, who specialize
in corporate restructuring, M&A and FDI, Mr. Jingdong XU, who is
adept at dealing with significant contentious matters and Mr. Ye WEI,
who is expert in construction and real estate field. It also mentioned
that HHP Attorneys-At-Law has advised Kingfisher
UK—B&Q’s parent company in Britain, on its acquisition
of OBI Germany's Chinese business in 2005, and that HHP also advises
other major clients including Delphi, Bertelsmann, Volkswagen,
McDonald’s, Huntsman, Hynix-ST, Haier New York Life, Shanghai
ChengTou and Zen Dai Group.
- In July 2007,
HHP Attorneys-At-Law began to provide legal service with Zen Dai
Property for its purchase of 100 percent share of Shanghai Heng Jin
Real Estate Co., Ltd., which holds the Real Estate project named
“Heng Sheng Ming Di” located at Taolin Rd. Pudong New
Area. The price of transaction reaches several hundreds million Yuan.
- In July 2007, Ms. Hou Qunping, the senior
associate of HHP-Attorneys-at-Law, has formally become the Partner of
HHP-Attorneys-at-Law. Ms. Hou’s professional emphasis is on the
areas of foreign direct investment and company law, mergers and
acquisitions, real estate and construction, contract law and
pharmaceutical law, etc. Ms. Hou has been providing legal services to
a number of famous domestic and multinational companies with respect
to the market entry strategies, establishment, contract drafting and
compliance issues of foreign invested companies. Ms. Hou has also
accumulated abundant practical experience in the fields of M & A,
real estate development and construction projects.
- From June 28 to July 1 of 2007, all the members
of HHP Attorneys-At-Law flied to Chengdu, Jiu Zhai Valley and Huang
Long for an outing. We tasted authentic Sichuan Cuisine, including
unique flavor snacks and hot chafing dish. Touring around Jiu Zhai
Valley and Huang Long, the Place of World Cultural and Natural
Heritage, enjoying the picturesque scenery, we felt as if we were in
the wonderland and relaxed ourselves both physically and
psychologically.

On 28th & 30th of May 2007,
HHP Attorneys-At-Law together with the Youth Jurisprudence Association of
Fudan University, held the 6th WORKSHOP FOR LAW SCHOOL STUDENT on the topic
of Mergers & Acquisitions of the Service Enterprise. The graduates and
undergraduates of Law School of Fudan University joined in the workshop.
Mr. Dai Jun and Mr. Wang Mingtai conducted the workshop.
- In May 2007,
HHP Attorneys-at-Law has concluded an agreement on providing long-term
legal service with CHEP, which is the global leader in pallet and
container pooling services serving more than 300,000 customers
worldwide. Its customers are in a wide range of industrial and retail
supply chains, such as Carrefour, Ford, GM, Nestle, Procter &
Gamble, etc. CHEP is the subsidiary company of Brambles, a leading
global support services group, providing a variety of industrial and
business services, including pallet and container pooling, waste
management and recycling, information management and contract based
industrial services.
- In May 2007, Jason Cheng, the previous partner of Boss
& Young Attorneys-at-Law, formally become the partner of HHP
Attorneys-at-Law. Jason has provided legal services to numerous
Fortune 500 companies. He has built a solid jurisprudence foundation
and amassed diverse practical experience in the area of litigation and
non-litigious matters. Jason’s practice area includes foreign
direct investment, restructuring, corporate mergers and acquisitions,
intellectual property, foreign exchange regulation, income tax law,
manufacturing and commerce, etc.
- On 14th
& 15th April 2007, all members of HHP Attorneys-at-Law
went to Suzhou to tour around the Suzhou Gardens,
enjoy the landscape of Taihu
River and the
beauty of the nature in Spring.
- In January
2007, HHP Attorneys-at-Law has concluded an agreement on providing
long-term legal service with Hynix-ST Semiconductor Ltd., which is an
enterprise jointly established in Wuxi by STMicroelectronics and Hynix
Semiconductor – the world's largest producer of DRAM. The first
phase of Hynix-ST's Semiconductor project in Wuxi
is so far the biggest singly-invested semiconductor project around China.
