During from 17th to 19th of December 2004, all the members of HHP Attorneys-At-Law and Haarmann Hemmelrath Shanghai Office went for an outing to Sanya, Hainan to enjoy the sea wind, refresh the spirit and forget the pressure of work and the hassle of rush-hour.

On November 17, 2004, Mr. Ye Wei and Mr. Bin Zhao, as partners of HHP Attorneys-At-Law, went to Kunming at the invitation of McDonald’s China Development Corporation to give the lecture on the topic of “Legal Trends on Lease, Relocation and Removal of Real Estate in China?during the 2004 McDonald’s China Development Team Convention held there.

In November of 2004, HHP Attorneys-At-Law participated in the purchase deal between Shanghai Junyao International Plaza Co., Ltd and Shanghai Bar Association for the latter to buy two floors of Junyao¡¯s property to be used as its new office address. HHP Attorneys-At-Law acted as Junyao¡¯s legal adviser in the transaction.

From November 2004, HHP Attorneys-At-Law for another time has provided full-process legal advice for Shanghai Urban Construction Investment and Development Corporation on its BOT project of sewage treatment in Xujing, Qingpu, Shanghai.

In November 2004, Mr. Ye Wei—one of the partners of HHP Attorneys-At-Law—strived to win the third prize of Men’s Badminton Doubles together with his partner in the 6th Badminton Contest for Shanghai Bar Association.

From October 2004, HHP Attorneys-At-Law has provided full-process legal advice for Shanghai Urban Construction Investment and Development Corporation on its BOT project of sewage treatment in Huaxin, Qingpu, Shanghai.

In October 2004, HHP Attorneys-At-Law for a second time advised for the world’s biggest chemical warehousing logistics service offer—Vopak of Netherland—on its establishment of big scale chemical warehouse logistics project in Zhangjiagang Logistics Park.

In August 2004, HHP Attorneys-At-Law advised on the joint venture project between the world’s biggest chemical warehousing logistics service offer—Vopak of Netherland—and COSCO Logistics.

From July 2004, HHP Attorneys-At-Law has provided another worldwide renowned German giant in the chemical industry which is among the World’s Top 500 with special legal service on taxation. The service mainly involved VAT refund for the purchase of domestically-manufactured equipment.

In July 2004, HHP Attorneys-At-Law concluded an agreement on providing long-term legal service in China with Huntsman, one of the world’s biggest enterprise in the chemical industry.

In the beginning of July 2004, HHP Attorneys-At-Law took the case where another big scale state owned enterprise sued one noted broker on the basis of tort for its loss of 100,000,000 RMB resulting from the broker’s fault. The case was still under hearings.

In the middle of May 2004, HHP Attorneys-At-Law took the case as the attorney of the plaintiff where 62,000,000 RMB government debt under the name of a big scale state owned enterprise was appropriated by Minfa Securities Co., Ltd for repurchase. During the process of the litigation, the People’s Court eventually adopted the view of HHP lawyers and held that this case not being a dispute of financing entrust, the behavior of the defendant constituted tort and the defendant shall afford all the legal liabilities.

In the beginning of May 2004, HHP Attorneys-At-Law represented Zhonghai Trust & Investment Co., Ltd. in the case where 500,000,000 RMB government debt under Zhonghai’s name was appropriated by Capital-bridge Securities Co., Ltd for repurchase. After the procedures of first instance and second instance, the claims of Zhonghai finally attained the support of the People’s Court. The People’s Court held that the case was not a dispute of financing entrust, that the behavior of the defendant constituted tort and that the defendant shall afford all the legal liabilities. Meanwhile the People’s Court also supported the claim of Zhonghai regarding the fruits for possession of fund.

On April 23&24, 2004, all members of HHP Attorneys-At-Law and Haarmann Hemmelrath Shanghai Office went to Mountain Mogan for an outward bound to enjoy the beauty of the nature in spring.

In April 2004, HHP Attorneys-At-Law advised as the attorney of Indonesian Salim Group and JAPFA on their cooperation programme of dairy resource development with Mengniu Group.

In March 2004, Mr. Nuo Ji——a partner of HHP Attorneys-At-Law——was appointed legal thinktank by the People’s Government of Huangpu District to provide for it professional legal service for the purpose of the Government’s implementation of administration under rule of law, with his tenure to end in March of 2006.

On February 19, 2004, the founding partners of the Italian law firm Picozzi & Morigi——Mr. Allessandro Picozzi and Mr. Avv. Enrico Morigi——visited HHP Attorneys-At-Law for a second time. The parties negotiated in detail the cooperation on business development in Shanghai and Nanjing.
