Here Comes the Chinese Version of the New Guide on Personal Data Protection
HHP is extremely pleased to have translated the latest Meritas guide into Chinese -- A Global Roadmap to Personal Data Protection: Asia Pacific, Europe & USA. This new guide explains the data protection laws in 10 jurisdictions, including Australia, China mainland, Europe, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, and the United States. HHP is the contributing firm for China’s Chapter.
The guide is organized in a straightforward format consisting of 11 key questions and answers for each region, covering the definition of personal information, the key principles relating to personal information protection, the compliance requirements for the collection, processing, use and disclosure of personal information, restrictions on cross-border transfer of personal information, as well as the responsible regulatory authorities, the penalties, liabilities or remedies, and new legislation regarding personal information protection. We will post the Chinese version of each Chapter on our WeChat platform.
