BIOGRAPHY

Mr. Shihao Xiao has been with HHP since 2016, providing comprehensive corporate legal services to a wide range of domestic and multinational clients across diverse industries. His experience covers, among others, new energy, semiconductors, manufacturing, FMCG, chemicals, food and beverages, logistics, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and private equity funds, and he provides legal support tailored to industry-specific business characteristics and regulatory requirements.

In M&A, corporate restructuring and other transaction projects, Mr. Xiao’s work includes designing, refining and assessing acquisition proposals and transaction structures; organizing and conducting legal due diligence; drafting, reviewing and translating transaction documents; providing legal support in commercial negotiations; and assisting with closing and related documentation, procedures and ancillary arrangements. His services cover all stages of a transaction, from initial planning and deal execution through completion.

In the area of outbound investment, Mr. Xiao provides integrated legal support for overseas investment and operations. He assists clients in designing offshore structures, handling outbound investment procedures through to implementation in the destination jurisdiction, and advising on overseas employment matters, preparation of legal documentation, intellectual property protection, product compliance, and data protection.

In data protection and cybersecurity, Mr. Xiao advises on personal information protection, cybersecurity and data security. His services include reviewing and mapping data processing activities arising from clients’s production, operations and management; identifying and optimizing data flows; preparing and updating compliance documentation and internal rules; supporting the establishment of data management and governance frameworks; and assisting with filings, assessments and other administrative procedures required for cross-border data transfers.

In addition to the above, Mr. Xiao provides ongoing support on employment and HR management and labor compliance, and has extensive experience in intellectual property protection. He also serves as long-term counsel to companies across sectors on day-to-day compliance and general corporate matters.
