HHP Hosts Meritas Asia Regional Meeting in Shanghai
In September 2025, the Meritas Asia Regional Meeting was successfully held in Shanghai, bringing together member firms from 14 jurisdictions across the Asia-Pacific region to exchange insights on the legal and business challenges of globalization.
As the host firm and the only Meritas member in Shanghai, HHP Attorneys-At-Law worked closely with the Meritas global and regional teams to organize a series of interactive sessions covering cross-border investment, ESG, business law, artificial intelligence, EVs and data regulation. The meeting also featured a client seminar on “Cross-Border Investment and Compliance”, which drew wide participation from leading companies in the manufacturing, energy, automotive, and technology sectors.
Throughout the event, lawyers from across the region shared practical experiences and perspectives on helping clients navigate evolving legal landscapes in Asia. These exchanges strengthened collaboration among member firms and highlighted new opportunities for cross-border cooperation — particularly within China’s rapidly transforming market.
“The meeting reinforced what makes Meritas unique — a global network of trusted, high-quality law firms that work together seamlessly,” said Yao Rao, Managing Partner of HHP. “We see growing demand from both Chinese enterprises investing abroad and international companies entering China. Through Meritas, we can provide clients with integrated and efficient legal support across jurisdictions.”
Looking ahead, HHP will continue to work hand in hand with Meritas firms to deliver trusted, cost-effective cross-border legal services and to help clients — whether expanding into China or going global — achieve sustainable growth through collaboration, compliance, and mutual understanding.
