HHP Attorneys-at-Law Successfully Hosted the Meritas Seminar on Cross-border Enforcement
On May 13, 2026, HHP Attorneys-at-Law, together with the Shanghai Bar Association and partner fellow Meritas law firms from France, Austria, Romania and the UAE, successfully hosted the seminar “Enforcing Rights Across Borders: European & Middle East Perspectives” in Shanghai.

The seminar brought together legal professionals and business representatives to discuss cross-border dispute resolution, enforcement of foreign judgments and arbitral awards, asset recovery, and international legal coordination in the context of Chinese companies’ expanding global operations.
Speakers included representatives from Meritas member firms Bignon Lebray (France), Binder Grösswang (Austria), Danescu & Asociatii (Romania), and BSA Law (UAE), who shared practical insights into local enforcement mechanisms, court systems, recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments and arbitral awards, provisional measures, and strategic considerations for cross-border disputes and asset protection.

The discussions highlighted that, as Chinese companies continue to expand internationally, legal needs are evolving far beyond traditional transactional support. Increasingly, companies require coordinated cross-border legal assistance covering compliance, disputes, enforcement, asset protection, and overseas operational risk management. In this context, close cooperation among law firms across jurisdictions has become increasingly important.
The seminar also demonstrated the practical value of collaboration within the Meritas network. By bringing together lawyers from Europe, the Middle East, and China to exchange local perspectives and practical experience, the event reflected how cross-border legal teams can work together to provide integrated and commercially effective support for clients operating internationally.

As a China-based law firm with a long-standing focus on cross-border legal services, HHP Attorneys-at-Law continues to work closely with trusted international legal partners across multiple jurisdictions, supporting Chinese companies in overseas investment, international dispute resolution, and global business operations with coordinated, practical, and locally informed legal solutions.
