HHP Named in ALB China M&A Rankings for Seventh Consecutive Year
HHP Attorneys-At-Law has been named in the 2026 ALB China M&A Rankings, published by Asian Legal Business (ALB), part of Thomson Reuters. HHP was recognized among the Firms to Watch, marking the seventh consecutive year that the firm has been included in ALB’s China M&A rankings.
This year’s rankings recognize 58 law firms across China. According to ALB, China’s M&A market saw increased activity over the past year, driven by continued demand for industrial consolidation and capital transactions.
For HHP, M&A has long been a core area of practice. The firm advises Chinese and international clients on domestic and cross-border acquisitions, equity investments, joint ventures, corporate restructurings and overseas investments, with particular experience in sectors including advanced manufacturing, new energy, automotive, chemicals and mining.
HHP’s transactional work is closely connected with its broader cross-border practice. Many transactions today require companies to look beyond the acquisition agreement itself. Foreign investment rules, employment arrangements, data compliance, intellectual property, trade compliance and post-closing integration can all affect the feasibility and implementation of a deal.
HHP therefore approaches transactions from both a legal and operational perspective. Depending on the matter, the firm assists clients with transaction structuring, legal due diligence, regulatory and compliance analysis, negotiation and drafting of transaction documents, closing arrangements and post-closing issues.
For transactions involving multiple jurisdictions, HHP also coordinates with local counsel to help clients manage different legal requirements within a single transaction process. Through its longstanding international practice and its membership in Meritas Law Firms Worldwide, HHP has access to legal resources across more than 90 countries and regions and over 240 legal markets.
This model allows clients to work with a China-based team that understands the commercial and regulatory context of the transaction while also coordinating legal advice in other relevant jurisdictions. It is particularly valuable for Chinese companies investing overseas, as well as international businesses undertaking transactions or strategic investments in China.
HHP’s M&A practice has also been recognized by a number of international legal directories, including Chambers, The Legal 500, IFLR1000 and asialaw Profiles. Together with seven consecutive years of recognition by ALB, these rankings reflect the firm’s continued involvement in complex corporate and cross-border transactions.
We are grateful to our clients for their continued trust and support. HHP will continue to assist businesses with investment, M&A and international expansion, combining local legal knowledge with practical cross-border coordination to help clients move transactions forward across different markets.
